A PROJECT TO LAUNCH THE MARINE RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR
Projet NH1
The tidal energy industry is fast developing in France, with the upcoming deployment of a tidal turbine pilot farm – Normandie Hydroliennes (NH) Project NH1 located off the coast of Normandy. The energy potential offered by the Raz Blanchard is a unique opportunity for the development and integration of innovative low-carbon technologies into the mix.
With a capacity of 4GW, the Raz Blanchard is the tidal site with the highest potential for commercial deployment in Europe.
The realisation of this project will demonstrate the benefits of adopting tidal turbine technology, to accelerate the commercialisation of the French marine renewable energy sector in France, Europe and around the world, and position Normandy at the centre of a pool of skills and know-how in the field.
